In the past couple of months, I have been getting into Hookah's and somewhat starting to become an enthusiast of sorts. I started off my adventure by going to The Hookah Lounge in Clearwater, Fl. It's a cool little spot and the owner Dustin is a man of knowledge when it comes to Hookah's. They have really good deals on smoking hookahs. It's $15.00 bucks for unlimited and $8.00 for a single. They also have over 65 different flavors to meet anyone's needs.
I will be playing on June 18th, 2011 from 10pm-2am at the Hookah Lounge. Since it's a lounge I will be playing ambient/indie/chill dubstep all night. You should come and check it out. It will be a good night of music and hookah's!

This festival is to begin on May 20-22 so get your tickets today and enjoy a little bit of fun. No other location allows music fans the opportunity to hear three consecutive days of their favorite bands while experiencing mind, body and spirit rejuvenation on the beach. So see you there.
This is going to be a good show on January 26th at the Crowbar in Tampa, Fl. Tokyo Police Club, Two Door Cinema Club and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. All three band have been talk about on this blog or they have been added to the monthly Playlists. I'm excited for this show because I have yet to see Two Door and Boris Yeltsin. It looks though that now tickets are only available at the door or at Daddy Kool Records in St. Pete. Although the website states that their are a lot of available tickets at the door. I don't want to take my chances so I'm going to go pick my ticket up today. Show starts at 8p.m. and tickets are $15/$18 All Ages. Well hope to see some of you there.
Matt Pond PA has a new album out called The Dark Leaves. It's his eight studio album and it was release early April of 2010. So I guess I was a little out of loop on his new album. Although when a new album is released a tour date is sure to follow. So I'm in luck, after checking out his website I found that he will be perform a show at the New World Brewery in Tampa, Fl on Oct. 6th with guest Company(Co.) and King of Spain for $10 bucks. So maybe I might see some of you out there if your in the area.
On a side note I got to give props to Matt on his album cover art. The color palette choice and the tone of the image is fantastic. The font that was used on the album is also quite interesting and blends in nicely with the design. It has a very earthy vintage feel to it and works with the album. If you like what you hear then follow Matt Pond PA on Twitter and keep up to date on what he is up to.
I recently got my hands on a copy of the New Teen Dream album by the Baltimore-based duo Beach House. This is the third album by Beach House and it's packed full of dreamy sounding rhymes and vocals. Scally and Legrand have created a well arranged and constructed sound of droning melodies and waverly vocals to carry you through each song. This album is full of sounds that can be seen as dreamy like the use of vintage organs and the arpeggiating piano.
This album was produced by Chris Coady, who has worked with TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Blonde Redhead, and was recorded in a converted church in upstate New York — appropriately named Dreamland. So I have a feeling that maybe the name Dream in the album title had some influences from the sound of the album and the location of where it was recorded. Either way this is a must have album.
If you like the album or want to check them out. Then if you live in Florida your in luck. They will be playing two shows in Florida with Vampire Weekend. One in Orlando on Oct 11th at the Hard Rock Cafe and then Oct 12th at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg.
The great thing about the summer time is there full of festivals and who doesn't like festivals right? They're full of great bands, food, people and good atmosphere. So seeing how festivals rock. This year I have decided to attend the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco August 14-15th at the Gold Gate park. This festival will give me the first time visitor a taste of the San Fran scene because this festival is like a taste of San Francisco with music, food, wine and art. I will tell you though I'm looking forward to some of the bands that will be performing this year. You have bands like Toyko Police Club, The Strokes, Phoenix, Slightly Stoopid, and many other great bands to fill your festival going ears.
I think another great thing about this festival is the wine tasting which California is known for its wineries. It looks like from the website that they have added 3 more wineries to the lineup. Berryessa Gap, Long Meadow Ranch and Palmina have been added in the ranks of an already impressive lineup of wineries featured in Wine Lands part of the festival. So if don't live in area you should travel on over to California and check out the Outside Lands Festival.
