It has been about 4 years since I have worked on my last portfolio website. So I thought it was about time to redo the site on Wix.com. This time instead of being a flash based website this site is currently constructed with HTML5, which makes it a little easier to work with.
On Damion S. Portfolio Collection site I've added my portfolio works from photography, websites, TCL works and more, which will be continuously updated. It's also easy to get back and forth to TCL via the menu and I have also added a blog feed on the home page of the new site. I have also added an Etsy Shop to start offering design prints. Currently, all prints are set to $10, which is not hard on the old wallet. You will also now see a shop link on TCL to quickly get to the site.
In the next two weeks, I will be doing a giveaway for The Collective Loops #1000th post in which I will be giving away both TCL Playlist Collection Posters. So keep an eye out for that! In the mean time be sure to check out the new site and let me know what you think?
First, before I start telling you the reason for the new design let me welcome you to TCL's new design and layout!! So now onward, let's get into a little bit of the design and the reason for the change.
Since I created the blog back in 2009 I wanted to make it a place for me to remember awesome things. As it went on I got more into it and changed the name from Damion DJ and Producer Blog to something that matched what my blog was about. So I changed the design back in 2011 and changed the name to The Collective Loop.
So here we are 4 years later since the last update and I felt that it was time for a makeover. The Collective Loop is a place where art, design, music, technology and more collectively loop, but that doesn't mean the design can't After contemplating, I decided that I wanted to change the layout to look more professional, interactive and all around still have a minimal feel. I was able to find all this with the new design.
So tell me what you think of the new design? Look around and see all the changes
.
Website are sometimes to crowded and to much is going on. So it's a little hard to follow the concept or find what your looking for. That is one of the reasons why I like the clean and minimalistic styles of some website. I have added a couple of sites that I think have a clean and minimal look. So if your looking for a clean and minimal style to inspire you hopefully these can give you a start.
I have finally generated a new website which showcases my photography and graphic design works. To build it I used WIX.com which is a Webtop publishing platform that lets users create any kind of web content (web sites, widgets, blogs, myspace layouts) and publish that content anywhere they want. WIX provides all that you require to create adequate exposure. It offers a simpler, faster and better ways for you to build Flash web content. Another great thing about this platform is that you can have an amazing flash website without needing to know any code. Wix does this without the need to use complex publishing systems and without being constrained by the limitations of template based solutions. It also provides a simple SEO friendly solution to make sure you're getting found online. You get all this absolutely free although if you're looking for more perks then maybe upgrading to a monthly plan might be your deal.
This will be my second site that I have built using this publishing platform and I couldn't be happier with the outcomes of both sites. If your an entrepreneur and your looking for a way to build a site for your business with ease then give WIX.com a try. If your interested in checking out my portfolio website then click the image below or click the portfolio button in the main menu.
Adobe Creative Suite 5 is a collection of graphic design, video editing, and web development applications made by Adobe Systems. Adobe CS5 upgrade has arrived and though its previous version was released a year and a half ago many of us may have a feeling that they have upgraded only the other day. But the fact is that release cycle is every 18 months and now it is the right time for the new product version to come. The only web/design/development software collection that you would want to own Adobe Creative Suite 5 ($1700-$2600). It's available in five different sets, the new software includes the likes of Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5, InDesign CS5, Acrobat 9 Pro, Flash Catalyst CS5, Flash Professional CS5, Flash Builder 4, Dreamweaver CS5, Fireworks CS5, Contribute CS5, Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, After Effects CS5, Encore CS5, Soundbooth CS5, and a few others. Standout new features include Truer Edge technology for better masking, native 64-bit support (Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects only), and the crazy-insane Content-Aware Fill feature.
I thought this was something I had to share with the readers of Damion DJ and Producer Blog. It is a 2010 pop up calendar designed by German designer Johann Volkmer.
I am unsure if he designed this calendar to show his amazing skills at crafting a pop up calendar for each month or he is looking to mass produce these calendars. Either way I would want one for my desk at work.
I would have to say though that his website is well designed and he shows pictures of each month and also shows you the making of one of the calendars. Even though the site is in German it is still pretty easy to navigate. If you want to see more pictures of the calendars check them out here.
