This is a pretty interesting use of sticky notes. It was created by Bang-yao Liu for his senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design. The idea for this video was based around that: "every time when I am busy, I feel that I am not fighting with my work, I am fighting with those post-it notes and deadlines". He continued with this idea and the sticky notes stop motion develop to outdoors, and travels in 11 cities around the world in 40 days by 2 people. Check out more of his work on his site.
During the weekend I had a conversation with someone concerning matchboxes and the art that gave the matchbox the vintage feel. So today I found Jerogot + Gotroch collection of matchboxes. Jerogot + Gotroch created 178 unique vintage-inspired matchbook designs for a music video for the Navigators. Which you can see below.
I personally can say that I enjoyed almost all of them and the style and color choices hit the spot for me. It's also interesting to see them as a complete set which I could definitely get lost in this complete set for a while. If you want to check out more of their work then check out their Flickr stream.

In this four-part documentary series they use some of the most influential scientist, academics, pioneers, and entrepreneurs of our time to give a picture of the culture technology, cities and our past and how the present was shaped relative to the future of mobility. These are dedicated in getting users actively involved in the ever-evolving conversation of the future of mobility. The first 2 chapters are up at the Activate The Future and the final two remaining chapters will come out later this month. I have also added the first two chapters below.

Pulse news reader is an elegant application for iPhone, iPad and Andriod devices. It incorporates colorful panning story bars and fills them with content from your favorite sources. Pulse redefines news, giving you the opportunity to experience the news you desire from traditional sources, your favorite blogs and social networks – all in one beautiful interface.
I have been personally using this app for a while now. It makes checking my content easy and it gives it a more professional look. I even like how I can share right from my phone in this app without having to go to another app to share it. The guys at Alphonso Labs got it right when they set out to make mobile content less frustrating and more user friendly as well as visually pleasing.

Man About Town starring Kilian Martin was an interesting concept of combining two different ideas together. Who would have thought making a video of fashion and skateboarding would be so cool. What really catches your attention is Kilian Martin who is one of the best freestyle skateboarders in the world. Hands down this guy will have you going whaaaattt! No way did you see that! Below I have added two other videos A Skate Escalation and A Skate Regeneration that also showcase his freestyling street talent.
When watching these freestyle skate videos a lot of you will immediately think of Rodney Mullen who was one of the original gangsters of freestyle skateboarding. This is what Kilian stated about Rodney in an interview he did when he was asked about his feelings on being compared to Mullen. He stated, I really respect all that he has done. In some ways, he changed skateboarding by inventing so many awesome tricks. He is a pioneer and skateboarding legend all the way. I am over being compared with Rodney Mullen. I know many people do it, and I’m not sure if I will ever be able to change that. It is because Rodney has been the only person mixing Freestyle and Street in an artistic new way. So, sometimes when people see me mixing these two skateboarding styles I get compared…Anyways, I try to do my own tricks and give it my own style. I personally think that both are very talented and each brings their own style and passion to the streets of freestyling.

All three band have been talk about on this blog or they have been added to the monthly Playlists. I'm excited for this show because I have yet to see Two Door and Boris Yeltsin. It looks though that now tickets are only available at the door or at Daddy Kool Records in St. Pete. Although the website states that their are a lot of available tickets at the door. I don't want to take my chances so I'm going to go pick my ticket up today. Show starts at 8p.m. and tickets are $15/$18 All Ages. Well hope to see some of you there.

This is a short film opener for the short film competition "kurzundschön" (Short & Nice). The competition is for young creatives for commercial spots, motion design, short films and mobile miniatures. This competition was designed to promote and advocate up-and-coming talent. The featured short film for the competition was made by feedmee. The creators of this short opener wanted to show the short and nice moment when felicity and serenity came together. This is a beautiful short film with the feeling of letting go of life and floating to peace.

This amazing Youtube video was made by Genrocks. It's this year's movies transformed into a seamlessly generated remix of 2010 movies. It has 270 of them into what you would call one giant ass video. This incredibly seamless, perfectly timed editing is mind blowing. All 270 film clips is listed here. You can find her on twitter too.

Vimeo has some great talent and interesting videos amongst their large collection. I came across this video "Crossover" while checking out the blog, The Fox is Black. This short film was directed by Fabian Grodde who had some amazing 3D artists. It took me a minute to realize that those bug weren't real. It looks really real though. I'm still not sure the meaning of the video but I will go with what Bobby from TFIB said. He said that it’s about the spread of Christianity in the world, specifically in less civilized areas. Of course this is all told through tiny stink bugs and a giant spider, but I’m sure you’ll see what he was talking about.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving NBC has hooked up with illustrator/director Nathan Love. In these 30 second promos to the viewers of NBC wishing them a Happy Thanksgiving. He does this with none other than the friendly and wildly goofy peacock.
Each of these commercials have a comedic edge to them. Especially the second one. I also wonder if he got his color palette choices from the old 1962 NBC Laramie Peacock animation. Either way I enjoyed each of these promo's. So Happy Thanksgiving from Damion DJ & Producer Blog. If you want to check out more of Nathans work than head on over to his site. I'm sure you will recognize a lot of his other works.

We all remember the Smart car right? The company that brought that little tiny car that so many craved to own. Well how about owning a pedal-powered bicycle with electric assistance named ebike. The ebike is powered by a 36-volt/9.6Ah Lithium-ion battery pack which is concealed within the frame paneling above the crankcase. It can be charged from a household mains socket and is said to take just two to three hours to fully charge.
Unlike some other pedelec (pedal electric cycle) vehicles available at the moment, the electric drive on smart's e-bike is not activated via a throttle grip on the handlebars. The 250W brushless direct current wheel hub motor activates as soon as the rider starts to pedal and provides four levels of electric support, controlled by a button on the handlebar. Depending on the motorized support level chosen, smart says that the ebike has an effective range of between 30 and 90 km (18.6 and 55.9 miles) per charge.
The ebike also has a spot for your smartphone. Not a selling point for you. How about if I told you this bike will integrate with your smartphones via a smart drive kit app. When placed in a special mount, the phone automatically activates the electric drive and becomes an information and control center for the vehicle. A trip computer interface advises the rider of battery status, current and average speed and also includes a heart-rate monitor and navigation system. There's even a GPS tracking function to help users locate a parked e-bike. This ebike not only has some great features but this bike has a stunning design which I would feel pretty slick riding around town. How about you?

I guess this must be animal week. First with the Ant Thriller and now Between Bears video. This video was made by Eran Hilleli as his graduation film at Bezale Academy of Art and Design. This video won the best animation award at the first vimeo's film festival. The vision for film was a debt to his childhood and other lives he hoped he lived. It was inspired by words of songs that he admires. This video is moving and the choice in color palettes was done nicely. If you want to check out more of his work. Then check out his site.

What makes a person influential without taking into account statistical or a metric approach? That is the attempt being made in this short documentary INFLUENCERS. It explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion and entertainment. Influencers focuses on what is commonly referred to as “Lifestyle Culture or Influential Young Adults Market” in the areas of music, fashion, and entertainment. The documentary does not pretend to offer an analysis of what is influence under all its forms (economic, political, environmental…).
It's only a 14 minute documentary but it has a good message and it gets your mind running on how your creativity can change trends. You can watch the whole documentary in HD on their site.

Table.Connect has been working on the first iPhone Table. So if your iPad is just not big enough don't worry soon you can get a whole table. This is how it works. The iPhone is attached via standard dock connector. You need to also have the Table Connect App for it to work. Then the entire content of the iPhone’s screen will be projected onto the multitouch table, still giving full access to all the touch gestures using multitouch technology. If you want to continue following the progress of the prototype then follow them on twitter or check their site.

A friend of mine on Facebook brought this video to my attention over the weekend. So I thought I would pass it along. Fallen is a video that was realized by Wolfram Kampffmeyer and Sascha Geddert. It's about a little meteor named Schorch who learns the biggest lesson of his life on his way down to earth. The video is only 3:50 minutes but they were able to invoke such emotion within such a small amount of time. It makes you take in the idea of being alive and enjoying your life in the moment because life is short.
Compositing by Sebastian Nozon.
Music and sound design by David Christiansen.
Produced by Stina McNicholas at Filmakademie Baden Württemberg.

I came across Alex Schulz on Vimeo this week and I wanted to share his video called "view". It's an animated short film about "human" perspective. I really enjoyed this video because of the meaning of the film and the concept in which he used to portray his meaning.
Alex who is from Pforzheim, Germany is a very creative artist who not only works with animation but also photography, graphic design, illustrations and producing music. From both videos that he has on Vimeo he has produced the music for each of them. I think their great little tracks that go well with the concepts. So check out his Behance and Vimeo sites and enjoy. Let me know what you think about the video?

On Mozilla Labs website they launched a Concept Series with an open call for participation. They have received thousand of people who have participated and shared their ideas and concepts. One in particular that caught the attention was Billy May and his Open Web Concept Phone. The input for the phones idea came from users in the spirit of Mozilla's open source. The Mozilla Seabird, part of the Mozilla Labs’ Concept Series, is an experiment in how users might interact with their mobile content as devices and technology advances. Drawing on insights culled from the Mozilla community through the project’s blog, a focus quickly developed around frustrating physical interactions. This phone is full of new options and ways to utilize your potential for this concept phone. Check out the video below to see some of the features of this concept phone.

A company called Looxcie just came out with a new way of recording your memories. They have built this tiny camera that shoots HVGA footage any time it's on. Letting you record those memories that you wish you would have. This ear wearing camera not only lets you film but it also doubles as a Bluetooth headset which from what I hear you can still record while using it as a Bluetooth headset. It also lets you use your Android handset as a viewfinder and editor. It also gives you access to share these memories on the fly. This little ear wearing camera will run you about $200 bucks. So if your looking for a Bluetooth headset to also have the power to record then this Looxcie is for you.

Since I have been on a 3D art kick I thought I would pick another one that I thought was interesting. This commercial below was made in 2008 for Royal Bank of Canada. The concept was very simple, a man wakes up one morning with endless legs and decides to take advantage of the situation by easily traveling the world with his kids. This video caught my attention due to the style and design of the 3D characters and the textures and color patterns used in the video. Plus it has the Shins "New Slang" song playing in the background. You can't go wrong with the Shins. If your interested in checking out more video's by fxandmatt then check them out on Vimeo.

Aiko Studio is a company that specializes in 3D modeling, texturing, animation, rendering, and effects. In their latest video they generated a 3D computer model of a simple classroom. They did a flythrough of the classroom to get you focused on some details you might not usually focus on in a classroom. What caught my attention to this video is the realism that this video shows. The detail of this video is also spot on with its close up's and its use of different lighting. Aiko studio also has a making of the video that shows the different lighting patterns and the sequences in which the video was designed. It took Aiko Studio about 6 months to complete this video but they stated that this was an in between project and was not a full time job. They used 3D Max + V-Ray to complete this project. So go ahead and have a look at the video and check out more of their works on Vimeo.
