Two Portland-based companies, Industry and Ti Cycles unveil Solid, a urban commuter bike that features a 3D-printed titanium frame. Solids inspiration came about from the diverse beauty and soul of Portland, Oregon. This bike captures the essence of the city and riding.

"The criteria for this platform is a titanium frame and sub-assemblies for its light weight and strong properties, belt drive for high durability, internal geared hub for effortless shifting, disc brakes, Dynamo for electronics, fenders, and internal wiring." 

Industry redefined the bike gesture by pushing the boundaries of the material and frame design. In order to make it truly seamless they 3D-printed key parts in collaboration with i3DMFG, and brought together old and new techniques.

Solid is a lifestyle bike. With that in mind, Industry created a Discover My City companion app that allows riders to discover the city through 5 curated journeys. Whether riders want to experience Portland’s diverse forested terrain or ride in the city – this app guides riders to enjoy the diverse beauty of Portland.

The app communicates with the bike to navigate.

Tom Atkinson, a photographer, has put together and documented the personal gear carried by British solders from 1066 to 2014.  You can see all the images and documentation on telegraph.co.uk.

Artist Chris Maynard has created these beautiful works of art out of feathers. Each feather design is placed in a shadowbox and uses feathers naturally shed from birds. These were made with the help of scissors, forceps, magnifying glasses and feathers provided by zoos. Check out more of his work on his site

Violaine & Jeremy is a graphic design and illustration studio based in Paris formed by Violaine Orsoni and Jeremy Schneider. These two have collaborated on album covers, design and layout of Influencia magazine and identity projects. I found that some of their best work is with the graphite drawings of quirky animals with beards of wildlife and other fun characters. I haven't jumped on the wireless chargers yet, but I'm starting to see some sleek looking design that I would sport on my desk.  Like the Swich Wireless Charger ($140), which is totally different. Offering support for the Qi charging standard, it features a microsuction charging platform with a viewer-friendly angle that can rotate from vertical to horizontal, allowing you to switch the orientation on your phone. It has been about 4 years since I have worked on my last portfolio website. So I thought it was about time to redo the site on Wix.com. This time instead of being a flash based website this site is currently constructed with HTML5, which makes it a little easier to work with.

On Damion S. Portfolio Collection site I've added my portfolio works from photography, websites, TCL works and more, which will be continuously updated. It's also easy to get back and forth to TCL via the menu and I have also added a blog feed on the home page of the new site. I have also added an Etsy Shop to start offering design prints. Currently, all prints are set to $10, which is not hard on the old wallet. You will also now see a shop link on TCL to quickly get to the site.

In the next two weeks, I will be doing a giveaway for The Collective Loops #1000th post in which I will be giving away both TCL Playlist Collection Posters. So keep an eye out for that!   In the mean time be sure to check out the new site and let me know what you think?
