Diego Stocco a composer and sound artist shared a clip featuring his experiments with a new turntable and a few freshly gathered leaves. More specifically all bass, kick and snare sounds heard in this video were made by alternating the leaf types, angles and pressure as it was applied against the turntable. This is definitely something you don't see everyday, plus the idea is pretty interesting don't you think?

Architect and illustrator André Chiote spent the time and illustrated a nice size collection of Museums around the world. Each has a unique style to them and the color pallette are a plus in my book. It something you would have seen back in the 70's. Check out more work from André.

This 872 s.f. Millette/Burch cabin is located 3600 ft in elevation in remote Nevada County, California. The house mediates the northern edge of a forest glade, with driveway access and entry against a steeper slope to the north. The entry/mudroom, bath and mechanical space are located in a wood-framed volume a half level up from the main living space. This simple, straw-bale volume opens to a south-facing terrace, connecting it to the forest glade, and a more intimate queen bed sized sleeping bay. An open loft above the kitchen provides additional sleeping space for quests.

Artist Sonia Rentsch has created in her Harm Less series, weapons made of plants. They were created to defuse the power of modern weaponry by constructing guns, grenades and bullets completely from organic objects. The shape and form of each piece are really convincing, yet I also enjoy the obviousness of each plant chosen to resemble various gun parts. Check out more of Sonia work on her site.

Weapons Made of Plants
I found this to be an interesting way to label and design your alcoholic beverages. Over the last decades innumerable flawless ideas and unique solutions have emerged for the packaging of alcoholic beverages and for the label's graphical design. In this project the designers of the Remember the Lion brand therefore included a new idea in this field, using a material which has undiminished popularity since the Bauhaus - concrete. In the execution of the product the designers with the help of technical experts have developed a manufacturing process, which can be effectively integrated in the bottle's labeling procedure. You can check back on the website to get more information on the process.

Anatomy Illustrated is a book designed to showcase the master illustrators of the 16-19th centuries. The book was a created by Melbourne-based designer Josip Kelava. The book focuses on the illustrator William Cheseldon, who was an English surgeon and teacher of anatomy, and who was influential in establishing surgery as a scientific medical profession. His works, along with many other illustrators, have been redesigned to a modern style, incorporating typography as a sense of interaction with the illustrations.
