This home is located in New Zealand and was designed by Crosson Clarke Architects Carnachan. It was intended to reinterpret the traditional country, with wood crafts and raw utilization of materials.  Designed almost like a container but it also allows for an open connection to connect with nature.

The house has a simple rectangular plan and sits at the top and side of a cliff for a view over the ocean maximized by a part of the facade that opens and closes as needed. Add to that, a beautiful wooden deck and a bathtub for bathing in the evening, to desalinate the day at the beach with a beautiful sunset.

Two or three hundred thousand lines of code later, we’ve figured out how to use the Leap to create an interaction space around your computer, in 3D.  Able to distinguish thumbs from fingers, and even handheld items like a pencil.  This allows users to interact like never before, using only natural movements.

And we went a step further. You will be able to create custom gestures that fit how you want to use your computer. You can even network more than one Leap device, to create even larger interaction areas.

Hand crafted by designer Jeff Skierka, the Mixtape table is a 12:1 scale replica of the real thing. Talk about having a conversation piece in your house. It was made out of reclaimed maple and walnut wood with a plexiglass top which is five years in the making.

Skierka spared no detail, the notched gears are made from short dowel rods, the four holes that hold the tape in the player line the edge of the table, the clear window in the center is cut out, even the inner rectangle, where a label would be, is recessed. Dark, reclaimed walnut wood has been cut into a smooth narrow strip to represent the actual tape, complete with round sections that emulate the tape coils in the center. via

Here are some intriguing superimposed illustrations by Peony Yip. Her minimalist portraits of young women are first rendered in pencil and then overlayed with animals tinted in red. This gives the images a sense of nature in all of women. Check out more from Yip on Behance
