Emily Shaw a California based designer did a great job for her 4th year design course of re-branding the timeless photography company Kodak. Her concept was to focus on the pro side instead of the masses and she was able to give Kodak a fresh, clean, and minimal design. I think she did a great job on keeping the focus but giving it a new look. Kodak should be hitting her up for her design. View more of this project on Behance
Urban bicyclist around the world are more than likely salivating over the Deer Antler Bicycle Handlebars by Brooklyn-based designer Taylor Simpson. This concept bicycle accessory is "handcrafted by genuine deer antlers and recycled metal".
I originally came up with the concept of Moniker Cycle Horns while participating in the World's Longest Yard Sale on Route 127 in 2010, an event I look forward to every year. While traveling the sale, I found a pair of genuine deer antlers a local man was selling somewhere in Kentucky. As a cyclist I thought it would be clever to create bicycle handlebars made of animal horns and antlers.Meanwhile, these would be a talking point for anyone that added these to there bike. Taylor did a great job in executing a stellar design concept that many of you out there now want. Check out more of his work on Taylor's site.

How would you like to have a different way of securing your bike then carrying around multiple locks? How about the concept design of this Saddle Lock.
Per the designers, "Saddle Lock provides a way to quickly lock the rear wheel without the need for additional locking accessories. The seat post swings down around the main frame when a button is pushed. The saddle features a cut-away shape that allows it to sit over the rear wheel. A combination lock allows the release of a special alloy rotating lock that extends from one end of the saddle to the other, securing its connection to the wheel."Saddle Lock is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner and was designed by Lee Sang Hwa, Kim Jin Ho & Yeo Min Gu.

Designer Madella Simone has come up with a new type of concept bike. MOOBY which plays with the word mobility to show that this one-speed is up for the challenges of urban riding. It even offers a modular system that makes it possible to re-skin your ride with a more personalized graphic. That means you can keep on changing the look depending on your mood. Simone hopes that more riders will be drawn into the fashionable style and opt for 2 wheels over 4.

We all know and love Pringles, but we also know those cylindrical canisters can be a hassle. You never get a handful of chips every time you put your hand down the tube or you end up with chip fragments at the very end. Who likes chip fragments?
Young designers Dohyuk Kwon, Kim Seok-woo, Seo Dong-Han, In Sung-hoonm, and Lee Bum-ho didn't like the current packaging, so they came up with there conceptual Bloom Chip potato chip container. It may look like a regular old Pringles can, but when the paper band is removed; it blooms into a shape that makes a chip bowl. This conceptual idea though only makes this bloom practical for a single-serving can since you can not close up the bloom container. The design though was so clever that it ended up winning the Red Dot Design Award.
So how practical do find this design?

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a better way to ride your bike with out getting a flat. How about a airless tire would that work? The "Energy Return Wheel" concept by designer Brian Russell demonstrates the possibilities of advance wheel technologies in the video below.
Instead of air, it uses rubber stretched over a series of carbon nano tube reinforced composite rods to provide its cushioning. These rods can be adjusted, changing the tension of the rubber to suit different types of terrain, improves flexing and recoil cycling. Plus it means no more having a pump, tubes and patches. Would you get a pair of these?
