I like turtles! So today when stumbling around on the internet I found a cool little piece on brainpickings.com about a book from the 1820's that shows wonderful illustrations of the anatomy of turtles. The book Anatome Testudinis Europaeae by the German physician and naturalist Ludwig Heinrich Bojanus (1776–1827). The two-volume is in Latin, featuring some stunning images of turtle anatomy, was published in 1820 and is now in public domain, digitized by Harvard for your viewing pleasure. So enjoy!

Miller Lagos is the creator behind the Book Igloo. This installation was created for MagnanMetz Gallery in New York City and it's entitled simply “Home”. Each book was carefully stacked to create a compact dome that is entirely self-supporting. I guess if you were bored, you could take a book from your house and have a nice read, although it would leave a hole in your house. Check out more of Miller Lagos work here.
