There are so many new features of the Galaxy S8. There is one you won't discover until you park it on your desk. The Samsung Dex Desktop Dock allows it and could be a standard of future Samsung phones to become an Android-based desktop, connecting to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse for a more versatile experience. Thanks to partnerships with Microsoft and Adobe, you get access to versions of apps like Microsoft Office and Lightroom that simply aren't possible with a touch interface, while keeping all the versatility and mobility that comes with having a computer in your pocket.
Larger monitor screens might be a little large but not when it's curved. That's why the curve of the Samsung Quantum Dot Curved 34" Monitor ($999) makes so much sense. In addition to its view-enhancing bend, it also uses quantum dot technology to cover more than 125 percent of the sRGB spectrum,Ultra WQHD enables a screen resolution of 3440 x 1440 — 2.5 times the pixel density of Full HD , and a sleek white chassis that minimizes the bezel and hides unsightly cords in the neck. The result is an ideal large-format screen for those who need the extra real estate, and a luxurious playing field for serious gamers.
The Samsung Gear 360 is sporting an eyeball-like design and a camera on either side, kind of like the old school webcams but with 2 camera's. The Samsung Gear 360 VR Camera ($TBA) makes capturing 360-degree footage and images a breeze. It connects to the S7 and S7 Edge over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, letting them serve as both viewfinders and editors, the latter necessary to make anything out of what it captures. And it captures a lot due to the 15 megapixel sensors with f/2.0 lenses that provide 195-degree fields of view, giving the stitching algorithm 15 degrees of overlap to play with. The result is 3840 x 1920 video and 30 megapixel stills that look solid on your phone, in a browser, or, ideally, inside a VR headset. Check out Samsung's site for more details.
So Google and Samsung have both come out with a type of VR for Android phones, however it seems that Apple made it an afterthought for iPhones. Not anymore though, Figment VR ($55) is the world's first virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) phone case. Its slim and sleek design makes it pocketable and accessible.
This combination headset and case lets you snap in your iPhone 6S or 6S Plus and enjoy immersive, high-quality VR right on your phone. Its built-in case offers protection, and its unique folding design means you don't have to remove it every time you want to go somewhere — just fold it to the rear and use/pocket your phone like you normally would. Available in white or black. Back them on Kickstarter.
Designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have rethought how the television should look and be treated in the home. The Samsung "Serif" series promotes itself as an object in the home that can fit into various environments. This lead to the "I" shape design, where it has a slim body center and wider at the top and bottom, the back panel has a knitted fabric that matches the body style.
The Samsung Serif will come in three different sizes - 40", 32" and 21 inch and come in three colors - white, dark blue and red. It also comes with a feature that includes a transition between standby mode and normal viewing called "curtain mode". So what do you think of this television series.
If this doesn't get your friends talking then well that can't be helped. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has no micro SD slot. No user-accessible battery. Guess they took that from Apple. It delivers a metal and glass phone that's made even more interesting by the signature dual-curve, 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. Other specs include an octacore processor running Android 5.0, a 16 megapixel, f/1.9 rear camera with optical image stabilization, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM, and support for both WPC and PMA wireless charging, meaning your wall charger is needed but can still be used.
