Wouldn't it be cool if your house could just get-up and walk to its next location? A Danish art studio N55 has made this possible with the innovative designed house with six hydraulic legs. This solar powered Walking House was constructed out of steel and plywood. It comes equipped with a small kitchen, composting toilet, integrated furniture, comfortable bed, and a system that collects rain water. The houses walking abilities are controlled by a touch panel screen that allows the home to move at a slow pace while enjoying the landscape and having minimal impact on the environment.
Here is a unique building with a cycling track on the roof, which was designed by NL Architects. It has a glass enclosed structure that will accommodate a bicycle rental shop, modern cafe, and a staircase that will provide access to the rooftop velodrome, which has a guide down the sides to bring your bike up the stairs without having to carry it. The Bicycle Club will be constructed in Hainan, China this year and was commissioned by Vanke for a big resort in southern China.

What a sweet find on this Friday afternoon. The "De Markies" meaning (The Awning) was an entry in the "Temporary Living" competition in 1985 and was conceived as being a mobile home. On the road, it measures 78 in. by 177 in., and once it has arrived at its destination its floorspace can be increased threefold in a matter of seconds. "De Markies" was awarded the Public Prize at the Rotterdam Design Prize in 1996.

The Whangapoua Sled House is a beach style house on sleds and was designed by Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects. Closed up, this home blends right into the landscape and it makes you wonder how this is a house for five. It was designed to be portable to shift around the beach front. This innovation is a response to the every changing beachfront coastal erosion zones. If you want to know more about the house check out the architects website.

I know what your thinking but this is not for AA meetings. The AA House is a minimalist home located in Barcelona, designed by OAB. Ceramic cladding was used on the rooftop and perimeter walls. The architects wanted as little obstruction between the interior and exterior as possible. As a result, an entire facade was made up of glasswork, trellises, and sliding panels.
I would have to say that this is a beauty right here. The home is an ideal mix of abstract, minimalist, and geometric design all in one. Oh yeah, did you see how sweet that stair case was? See more pictures after the break.

How about throwing the idea of a luxury hotel out and staying in a lodge on a remote Swedish island in a triangular hut. Designed by Stockholm architects Jagnefalt Milton, each Black Lodge will have wooden walls that fold open so that guests can open the room out to the elements as much or as little as they prefer. The only furniture inside will be wooden boards, which can be used as tables, beds or benches, plus stools. Find out more about this lodge on Dezeen.

Leo Fabrizio is the photographer behind these old Swiss Bunkers that were to be forgotten. He on the other hand wanted to find a new approach to these bunkers.
My approach on the contrary, aims to expose them from a new angle. This approach has led me to discover a great number of bunkers, some in remote areas, sometimes difficultly accessible, covering the whole of the Swiss territory. The relations between these basic shaped bunkers and the often-sumptuous landscape surrounds them became an essential part of the study. These bunkers have a way of blending in with nature and being a part of the landscape. This home is located in New Zealand and was designed by Crosson Clarke Architects Carnachan. It was intended to reinterpret the traditional country, with wood crafts and raw utilization of materials. Designed almost like a container but it also allows for an open connection to connect with nature.
The house has a simple rectangular plan and sits at the top and side of a cliff for a view over the ocean maximized by a part of the facade that opens and closes as needed. Add to that, a beautiful wooden deck and a bathtub for bathing in the evening, to desalinate the day at the beach with a beautiful sunset.
